Flight Design in History

In your visual journal, start a new page. You will be reading some stories (their links are below).

For each one, you must answer the following questions:

-Where did the story take place?
-When did the story take place?

-Were the characters successful at making an object that flies?
-If they were, what was it?
-What are some changes they made to their design to be more successful?

-If they weren't, how would they have to change their design to become successful? (should be from your imagination if the story doesn't say)

Vocabulary:

You must use each of these in a sentence, properly, at least once, to explain your thinking:

-Drag
-Thrust
-Lift
-Weight
-Streamline

Visuals

Each story features an object that flies. Draw them as best you can, including any design changes that you read about. Color them Label their parts.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Hello,

Please take a moment to book your child's parent teacher conferences. I hope to meet with you all next week to discuss your child's progress. You can book your own appointment on your CBE account here.

If you have any difficulties with the online system, send a note to school with your child, or email me, and I will call you to set up a time.

If none of the times available work with your schedule, please let me know so we can setup something.

Thanks,

-Mr. Smith
