Yesterday's Message

If you didn't receive the email from the school yesterday because you aren't subscribed, here's what you missed:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have a busy month ahead so please see the following items for school updates:

Outdoor School Orientation
·      February 9, 6:00 pm
·      The grade 5/6 teachers will be hosting an information session regarding the upcoming outdoor school.  

Teacher’s Convention
·      There is no school on February 16 and 17 due to teacher’s convention

Valentines
·      February 14 - Children are welcome to bring valentine cards to school as long as they bring one for each person in their class.  We ask that no food be sent to school in keeping with CBE Administrative Regulation (3047).  
·      Teachers will either send out a list of first names or instruct students to address their cards as “Dear Friend.”
·      This is optional and students do not need to participate. 
·      Although the numbers for our classrooms change each week, here are the current number of students in each class:

Hearts of Kindness
·      February 14 - Our school council has planned and activity “Hearts of Kindness” where students will write kind words/compliments for a classmate.  Each child will come home with a foam heart with words of kindness.  We appreciate our school council for providing this activity as we work to promote appreciation and kindness for others. 

Kindergarten Assembly
·      February 24 - Both classrooms (am and pm) will come to school for the morning.  The assembly is at 10:30 am and all students will be dismissed at 11:20 am. 

Anti-Bullying Day
·      February 22 – This is anti-bullying day and we encourage all staff and students to wear pink in support of this cause.  Teachers will plan supporting conversations and lessons around themes of peace, kindness and anti-bullying.
